Ninth Acre is personal
For Meridith and Andrew, Napa Valley became more than a place to visit—it became part of their life.
It’s where they fell in love with the land—where they were engaged, and where they chose to get married.
Over time, it became clear they didn’t just want to be part of Napa—they wanted to build a future there.
Ninth Acre is the result of that decision.
From the beginning, the focus has been simple: create exceptional wine with exceptional people.
They secured long-term lease rights to select vineyard blocks across Oakville, Pritchard Hill, and the Upper Valley—areas known for producing some of Napa Valley’s most respected wines.
They partner with Taransaud Cooperage, a historic French cooperage with roots dating back centuries, selecting barrels to shape structure, balance, and refinement.
Winemaking is led by Shawn Johnson, with production at Amulet.
The approach is intentional and disciplined—wines that are balanced, composed, and expressive, built to evolve over time but meant to be enjoyed from the moment they’re opened.
Each year, they select three emerging artists whose work resonates with them personally. The original pieces live in their Atlanta home, and the artwork becomes part of the design for The Collection.
But Ninth Acre is about more than the wine itself.
It’s about what the wine becomes part of.
The dinners. The conversations. The moments that only happen once—with the people you choose to share them with.
That’s what Meridith and Andrew set out to create—wines that hold up to those moments, and a brand that reflects how they believe wine should live in people’s lives.
Ninth Acre operates as a private allocation estate, allowing them to stay focused on quality, consistency, and the relationships behind every bottle.
Production is limited—only what the land gives that meets the Ninth Acre standard.
Beautiful wine.
The people we choose to share it with.
An unrepeatable moment.
Live with intention.
